Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

If a reservation is cancelled up to 7 days before arrival, there is no penalty. If cancelled 6 to 2 days before the scheduled arrival, there is a 50% refund of one night plus tax. If cancelled within 2 days of arrival, there is no refund. Please call if you have any questions or concerns about making a reservation. Thank you, Amherst Inn.

Graduation: Cancellations during graduation require up to (14) days before arrival. If your reservation is not cancelled at least (14) days prior to your arrival date, you are responsible for the entire cost of your reservation. Your credit card will be charged in full, unless the room(s) rebook. If rooms do rebook, you will be refunded the difference, minus (1) night plus tax.

Please note there are no exceptions made for medical or family emergencies, inclement weather, missed or cancelled flights, etc. The cancellation fee also applies to changes in your arrival/departure date which results in a shorter stay. If your reservation is changed to a different date, the deposit of (1) night plus tax will not be refunded. No refunds are provided for later arrivals, early departures or no show.

No pets allowed on premises

Check-out: before 11:00 AM

Guaranteed early check-in 1:00 PM $25.00. If you require access to your room prior to our check-in time of 3:00pm, add a one-time fee of $25 to your reservation and we will ensure your room is ready at 1:00pm for your early arrival.

Late check-out 1:00 PM $25.00. Stay with us a little longer. Add a one-time late check-out fee of $25 to your reservation and extend your check-out time from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

Additional person charges may apply if it exceeds more than the room requirement and vary according to property policy.

Government-issued photo identification and a credit or debit card is required upon check-in for incidental charges.

Special requests are subject to availability upon check-in and may incur additional charges. Special requests are not guaranteed.

Amherst Inn Guest Services Desk Hours of Operation

Front desk hours of operation are as follows:

Front desk is available 24 hours/365 days

Lobby doors are closed from 9:00pm - 7:00am. This property permits check-ins outside of designated hours with prior authorization. To arrange check-in for later arrivals, please call the front desk or our inn manager at 434-946-7641 prior to arrival. Upon arrival, please ring the door bell at the lobby doors and the front desk staff will assist you for your check-in.

Payment policy

Your room reservation is held with an advance deposit in the amount of ONE night plus tax. All reservations booked through our website or a third party website, the deposit will be processed within 24 hours of your booking. Any remaining balance is due upon check-in. Check in requires government-issued photo identification and a credit or debit card upon check-in for incidental charges. We accept Visa, Discover, Mastercard and American Express.

We are 100% No Smoking and No Pet Hotel

• Check in requires government-issued photo identification and a credit or debit card upon check-in for incidental charges.

• Rates vary according to dates and are subject to change without notice
• Room rates do not include 5.3% state tax and 5% local tax
• Minimum check-in age is 21
• Cribs (infant beds) are available $10 per stay
• Lost key fee $25
• No pets are allowed on premises. $250.00 will be charged if a pet or animal is discovered on premises.
• All rooms are Non-Smoking. Smoking is strictly prohibited in rooms. $250.00 will be charged for smoking in rooms

Please note there is a designated smoking area on property about 100 ft away from all buildings and building entrances.
