 The room was beautifully furnished and offered so many extra amenities, such as free snacks, coffee and tea, books, hair dryer, thermal curtains, lovely linens, and plush extra blankets for this December weather. Even the informational notebook about the area had obviously been compiled with care by the proprietors themselves. Highly recommended!

 Do no pass this beautiful, cozy, gem of a motel. It is so thoughtfully thought out as far as comfort and coziness. We have traveled all over the country and this was one of the best motels we have ever been in. It is as beautiful as the countryside of Virginia. If you are in that area visiting Vineyards or driving through, it is a MUST stop....Roger and Tina Forbes 

 It was a real treat to stay in an updated vintage "motel". The room was small but contained all expected necessities plus... and even extra goodies! Although it is out of the way for our usual travels, we will attempt to visit again one day!

 Overnight stay visiting friends. Thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations, room 104. Reminded me of traveling when I was a child. Room was appointed nicely with anything you could possibly need for an overnight stay plus exceptionally clean. Would give this inn a 5 star with no problem and if ever in the area again we would definitely stay here.

 If you're looking for a quaint place to stay, the Amherst Inn is it. Neil, the owner, is such a kind, friendly, and helpful person. I immediately felt at home when I walked in the lobby, which is well stocked with books, magazines, etc. The room (which has coffee pot, small refrig, microwave and a basket of snacks and goodies) and bathroom (which has basket of toiletries) is immaculate, clean and has personal touches. Don't judge a book by it's cover because if you do, you'll miss out on a great opportunity to stay in a great place!!! 

 I’m so glad I came back and booked 3 more nights at your establishment! Everything was wonderful. Your hospitality is 5 stars. I look forward to booking with you again in the future! I know we had a slight hiccup on Feb. 28th when I came, but you graciously made up for it and was so kind! Thank you for an awesome experience! I’ll leave reviews on other sites! ♥️

 The inn was a great find. It is small but very clean and with a well plan lay out. Will stay here again in the future.

 Do not pass this gem by based on its exterior. It looks very plain and unassuming. But this is one of the cutest, cleanest, most comfort-stocked places I have ever stayed at. Super clean. So well appointed. I had everything I could have wanted at my fingertips. Their welcome book is filled with ideas and recommendations. Toiletries, snacks, books, all the small touches here are so welcoming. I will definitely stay here again! 

 Our power went out during the snow storm, so we came to the Amherst Inn because it's close by and easy. I have my 96 year old dad with me. The room is lovely and the people who own the Inn, the Bhakta family are also lovely!

Their son Sean, checked us in quickly and got us set up, then he and his dad made sure the walkway was safe for my dad.

They are such nice , hospitable people. The room is very comfortable and impeccably clean. It's warm, the beds are comfy, and we are truly excited to get some sound rest!

 I wish to give this hotel the highest rating. We were delighted with the beautifully landscaped setting, the quiet, and the friendly, helpful staff. Most of all, we were so pleasantly surprised to find all the amenities that awaited us. We will be back!

 WOW!! and WOW again, I can't believe the surprise walking into our room. The outside is retro 60's motel I remember from my youth and the inside is "5 star New York City Hilton Hotel". My wife and I were amazed you got so much 1st Class luxury in such a small comfortable room. If such a thing as a "6 Star" motel, I would given you that. Thank you Amherst Inn for making our stay such a memorable/comfortable two nights. We hope to return again real soon. Howard & Beverly P., Wilson, NC.

 This is one of the best places we have ever stayed! The attention to detail and comfort is amazing. Seriously, from a variety of complimentary snacks to the remote control for the ac/heater to the comfortable bed to the fluffy towels to just everything. Even in the bathroom, the amenities were placed in a cute basket attached to the wall...and included toothbrush, toothpaste, a razor, shaving cream, as well as the usual soaps and shampoos. The room is very clean and, although small, very cozy. One can see all the small touches the owners have made to make this feel more like a guest room in a friend’s home rather than another hotel room. I cannot recommend the Amherst Inn highly enough.

 I stay here for around two week I felt very Safer the was clean everyday and was nice to me Person with special needs felt very safe here thank you all at Amherst inn love you all 💗

 We loved your Inn so much we just wanted to tell you! After sitting on I-81 in western VA for 5 hours on Oct 20th, and having to drastically change our travel plans, finding your Inn was wonderful! It felt like home. We loved everything about it. All of those thoughtful little extras such as the basket of snacks, the easy-to-forget items in the bathroom and the little 'library' of novels and magazines. Would have loved to stay longer but had a very long drive back North/East in the morning. Thank You for going the extra mile in creating such a cozy and comfortable room! The Millers in CT
 

 This is the best mom and pop old school motel! You park at your door and the rooms are immaculate! Not large but so comfortable. We usually stay at one of the large chain hotels but we will be back here.

 Really loved my stay here! So used to the chains and was a bit skeptical about a retro style motel but would absolutely stay here again. Complimentary water and snacks in the room makes a huge difference to me. 

 We always enjoy staying at Amherst Inn, when we come this way. The owners have made the rooms so inviting and the extra little things in the room are great. The owners are so friendly and if you have a problem with anything, don’t hesitate to ask them for the help. They are always quick to help solve any problems quickly. We just love this hotel.  I was so pleasantly surprised by this motel. When you’re traveling and tired and just want a clean room and comfy bed, this is the place! Free snacks, friendly staff, affordable updated rooms. I definitely recommend this motel.

 My husband and I stayed at the Amherst Inn on Saturday, November 10. We had such an enjoyable stay, he said he'd like to move in! Great bed. Great shower. Lots of tv channels. Loved that there were a microwave and a fridge plus lots of nice little touches - snacks, books to read, a night light in the bathroom and ceramic coffee mugs. We would definitely stay there again and will recommend it to anyone traveling on 29 through Virginia.

 We have stayed here for quite a few years now. We love it here. The owners are so friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay a welcome and pleasant stay.. it doesn’t hurt that the rooms are clean and pleasant when you go in. I recommend this hotel to anyone coming this direction

 My stay was a wonderful experience. I was in Lynchburg for work and it was such a blessing to return home at night to such a comfortable, well-appointed quarters. The room featured many comforts and amenities that I no longer expect even at standard hotel chains, and some that were a delightful surprise (e.g., complimentary bottled water and snacks, additional toiletries such as toothbrush). But the most outstanding feature of my stay was the very helpful local information and spirit of warm hospitality communicated through your “Welcome Book” for guests. This feature alone made me feel like I was staying in an upscale country inn or B&B. The housekeeping service was also excellent and attention to every detail extremely impressive. I hope to return one day, and in the meantime thank you for your kind hospitality and service. Wishing you much continued success.
